Submissions

HAIS’20 proceedings will be (tentative) published by Springer in its series of Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence – LNAI (part of its prestigious Lecture Notes in Computer Science – LNCS series).
All submissions will be refereed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity. Every submitted paper to
HAIS´20 will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee.

All accepted papers must be presented by one of the authors who must
register for the conference and pay the fee.

Papers must be prepared according to the LNCS-LNAI style template (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html) (templates are available above) and must be no more than twelve (12) pages long, including figures and bibliography.
Additional pages (over 12 pages) will be charged with 150 euros each page.

Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form, through which the copyright for their paper is transferred to Springer. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.

NOTICE: All papers for HAIS’20 must be submitted in electronic form (PDF format) through the link given above and must be prepared according to the Springer LNCS style template.

VIDEO-PRESENTATION FORMATTING ISSUES: Each speaker, no matter whether he/she is a on-site or an on-line attendee, must produce a video-presentation for each participation considering the following requirements:

  • Prepare the slides using your preferred method (Power Point, Beamer, etc).
  • Produce an MP4 (video plus audio) version of the slides. This MP4 file should include all the information the speaker wants to explain about his/her contribution. In addition to the slides, the video-presentation could contains extra pieces of video or any other kind of media you consider suitable.
  • Each video is 10 minutes long as most. Longer videos will be rejected.
  • Recommended resolution is 720p (1280x720px)
  • Try to use a 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • The deployed MP4 file should be a stand-alone MP4 file that can be played without further human intervention.
  • Alternatives to produce the MP4 file are the next:
  • The simplest alternative can be a MS PowerPoint with VoiceOver (if you have prepared your slides with this tool) or any other application.
  • See this link to get help on obtaining an MP4 file with MS PowerPoint – https://cutt.ly/byzagpz
  • If you want to merge different video/media sources (slides, webcam, extra videos, ..) we suggest using open source applications, such as OBS Studio:
  • See this link to get help on obtaining an MP4 file using OBS Studio – https://cutt.ly/JyzablM

These are simple tools that are widely used and documented in the web. You can ask us some questions at hais2020@uniovi.es, but keep in mind that we are not experts: we will try to solve your question if we know how to.
