Nandana Mihindukulasooriya is a member of the Ontological Engineering Group at UPM. He is currently doing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and his main research interests include quality assessment and repair of Linked Data, Linked Data Certification, Read-write Linked Data applications, Enterprise Application Integration, and Transactions.

He is a software engineer holding a B.Sc.(hons) degree in Computer Science & Engineering from University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka). He also completed European Master on Software Engineering (EMSE) double-degree at Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (Sweden) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) under Erasmus Mundus scholarship from European Union. Nandana successfully completed three Google Summer of Code (GSoC) projects in 2006, 2007, and 2010 related to Apache Axis2, Apache Jackrabbit, and Globus Toolkit during his bachelor's degree and the master's degree.

Before starting his higher studies, Nandana worked as a Technical Lead at WSO2 Inc and contributed to the design and implementation of WSO2 Web Application Server, WSO2 Carbon, an OSGi-based Enterprise Midldeware Platform, WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus and WSO2 Identity Server products. He was awarded "Outstanding Contributor of the Year Award" for year 2008 by WSO2 Inc based on evaluation of his contribution to the projects and client engagement during the year 2008. Nandana has a keen interest on open source and contributes to several open source projects. Currently he serves as a committer and a Project Management Committee (PMC) member of Apache Axis and Apache Web Services projects of Apache Software Foundation. He was a speaker at ApacheCon US 2009 and ApacheCon Europe 2012.

From July 2010 to the present, he is a member of the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG) of the Facultad de Informática, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and he has participated in several EU projects including SEALS (FP7–238975), LIDER(FP7-610782) and Spanish national projects 4V (TIN2013-46238).
