Dr. Hassan Reza is a Professor of Software Engineering at the University of North Dakota, and affiliated faculty with North Dakota State University. Currently, he is serving as a technical member for the Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) since its inception and UND Research Institue for Autonomous System (RIAS). Professional memberships include members of IEEE and ACM. Professional services include chairs of International Conference on Software Engineering Research and Practices (2004-2012), chair of workshops on UML/MDA (2004-2012), chair of the workshops on Critical Complex Based Systems, Associate Editor of Software Architecture, Associate Editor of Journal of Complex Based Safety-Critical Systems, Guest Editor (Hassan Reza and Jon Whittle) for the Special Issue in Software Engineering for the Journal of Software Quality (2007), Guest Editor (Hassan Reza, and Emanuel Grant) for the Special Issue in Software Engineering for the Journal of Software Engineering Research and Practices (2007).

Research Areas: - The role of Software Architecture in the engineering and testing of data analytics software systems (AKA BigData); - Developing the cybersecurity analytics framework in the context of BigData; - Safety & Security Assurance of Avionic & Medical Cyber-Physical Systems.
