The 2019 Summer Simulation Conference (SummerSim’19) is one of the premier international conferences of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS). The conference focuses on modeling and simulation, tools, theory, methodologies and applications and provides a forum for the latest R&D results in academia and industry. It is a combination of the 51st Summer Computer Simulation (SCSC) and the 22nd International Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems (SPECTS). This year’s theme is “Modeling and Simulation for Smart and Connected World”. We encourage you to take this opportunity to contribute with papers, tutorials and workshops.

SCSC invites original contributions to the theory and practice of modeling and simulation in scientific or engineering disciplines including but not limited to:

TOPICS

  • - Applied Theory of Modeling and Simulation
  • - Agent-based Modeling and Simulation
  • - Modeling and Simulation of Complex, Intelligent, Adaptive and Autonomous systems
  • - Simulation and Machine Learning
  • - Advanced and Visual Analytics for Simulation
  • - Simulation in the Systems Design
  • - Human and Social Simulation
  • - Simulated for Training and Education
  • - Simulation Verification and Validation
  • - Simulation in Augmented and Virtual Environments
  • - Modeling and Simulation as a Service
  • - Cloud-based and High-Performance Simulation Environments Simulation in Advanced Manufacturing and Industry 4.0
  • - Simulation for Cybersecurity and Cyber-Physical Systems
  • - Modeling and Simulation for Effectiveness Evaluation
  • - Modeling and Simulation for Strategy Engineering
  • - Emergency Management Simulation
  • - Grand challenges in Modeling and Simulation

SPECTS invites original contributions of theoretical and practical significance including but not limited to the design, modeling, analysis, simulation and performance evaluation of:

  • - QoS / QoE
  • - Telecommunication Networks, Networking Technologies and Computer Systems
  • - Future Internet and Next Generation Networking
  • - 5G and Beyond Systems
  • - Security in Computer and Telecommunication Systems
  • - Intelligent, Self-Organized, Adaptive, Autonomous and Cognitive Telecommunication and Computer Systems
  • - Service Oriented Architectures and Microservices
  • - Internet of Things, enabling technologies, Platforms, Environments and Services
  • - Cyber-Physical Systems and Embedded Systems
  • - Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence Applications and Machine Learning techniques in Computer and Telecommunication Systems
  • - Cloud, Edge Computing and High Performance Environments
  • - Social Networking Emerging Technologies, Applications and Services
  • - Software Engineering and Performance

The conference includes keynote speeches presented by technology and industry leaders, technical sessions, professional development tutorials, as well as vendor exhibits. Scientists, engineers, managers, educators, and business professionals who develop or use M&S methodologies and tools are invited to participate and present original contributions.

Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference, present their work to their peers, transfer copyright, and pay a conference registration fee at the time their camera-ready paper is submitted. Conference proceedings will be submitted to the ACM Digital Library, for archiving and indexed in DBLP and SCOPUS. (See website for exceptions.) Submission of the following types of contributions and/or proposals are also welcome: - Workshops - Tutorials (max 2 hours) - Short papers, describing early research efforts (max 6 pages) - Extended abstracts (max 2 pages) - Live demonstrations to be given during the conference

Visit the conference website at scs.org/summersim to get the list of SummerSim’19 tracks, and to get full details about the submission procedure.
