2009 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man& Cybernetics
October 11-14, 2009
Hyatt Regency Riverwalk, San Antonio, Texas, USA.

The 2009 SMC conference will be held in San Antonio, U.S.A. at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Hotel, 123 Losoya Ave., on the banks of the Riverwalk and across from The Alamo.

The 2009 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC2009) provides an international forum that brings together those actively involved in areas of interest to the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, to report on up-to-the-minute innovations and developments, to summarize the state-of-the-art, and to exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of systems science and engineering, human machine systems, and cybernetics. The theme of the conference is:

Intelligent Human-Machine Systems for Quality of Life

Advances in Systems Science and Engineering, Human-Machine Systems, and Cybernetics continually play increasing roles in creating intelligent environments involving state-of-art technologies interacting with humans to provide an enriching experience and thereby improving the quality of our lives. Papers related to this conference theme are especially solicited, including theories, methodologies, and emerging applications such as recognition of activities of daily living. Important Dates:
Feb 1, 2009: Deadline for submission of proposals for Special sessions.
March 1, 2009: Deadline for submission of proposals (one-page abstract) for tutorial sessions.
March 15, 2009: Deadline for submission of full length papers for regular papers.
May 14, 2009: Acceptance/Rejection notification.
June 29, 2009: Final camera-ready papers due in electronic form.

Call for Regular Session Papers:
Prospective authors are invited to submit their full-length papers electronically through the conference website. Each paper should be concise, but contain sufficient detail and references to allow critical review. Each paper will be judged by at least two referees.

Call for Special Sessions:
The goal of Special Sessions (SS) is to provide a focused discussion of new or innovative topics. SS organizer(s) must collect at least five papers. An individual can download an SMC2009 SS proposal form from SMC2009 official site, and send a full-filled form to the SS Chair. SS papers will be reviewed with the same criteria as Regular Session papers.
