This semantic wiki at {{SITENAME}} aims at making the world of science more visible and accessible. Information about scientific events, research projects, publishers, journals etc. is scattered around on the Web. For researchers (especially young ones without decades of experience) it is often difficult to find the relevant venues, people or tools. Also research is increasingly dynamic and multi-disciplinary, so the boundaries between communities blur and new research directions emerge. With this semantic Wiki, we aim to make information about scientific events, research groups, tools, journals etc. more accessible. {{SITENAME}} is not restricted to any field of science.

The concept of Open Access gained recently quite some attention as a means to make science more accessible, flexible and efficient. But gaining access to scientific results is just one aspect for making research more efficient. Scientists also need to know who is working on what, which tools are available, what conferences are worth visiting and presenting, where to get funding ... A large part of their time researchers are busy trying to get these kinds of information for their work. {{SITENAME}} provides a plattform for researchers to collect, organize, share and disseminate this kind of information in a structured way.

Improper shutdown of a pansorel computer technique due to a electrical power surge, voltage imbalance or electrical power failure may possibly cause loss of essential information. Uninterrupted power APC systems provide safety to safeguard crucial information by means of standard back again up power storage. The person is in a position to help save critical details for the duration of a electrical power outage or modify energy placement with the ability APC system by connecting the desired parts for the unit based around the selected model. A lot of uninterrupted energy APC systems come equipped with outlets to residence several computer techniques and extra products. Enterprise proprietors can select an applicable unit to provide the correct energy storage to enable each laptop or computer console enough time to correctly shutdown to protect essential data. Business people or buyers employing the system for home use have the ability to choose the suitable system based about the number of laptop or computer consoles, connected devices and budget restraints. Due to the preventative attributes provided by the uninterruptible energy APC, several insurance plan companies give a low cost to shoppers making use of this choice inside the home. Preventative Damage Manage Uninterruptible ability APC programs fluctuate based around the preventative techniques picked through the consumer. Obtainable choices could consist of pc, network, higher density or application hurt management. The uninterriuptible ability APC methods accessible for computer systems could give alternatives to incorporate battery surge safety, energy distribution choices along with a safe shut down mode to protect all data stored about the operation method. Network power safety systems typically consist of higher performance servers, networking techniques and storage hard drives to vehicle retailer all pertinent details as backup. Large density ability APC methods are sometimes supplied to large companies or corporations requiring support for significant systems housing over 50 computer systems or operational devices connections. Software program electrical power APC techniques are composed of network management cards, peripherals and information management software program used to shop important info for the duration of a ability outage. Uninterruptible power APC methods give the reassurance and safety against unexpected power surges. Customers or organization owners thinking about electrical power interruption prevention possibilities are encouraged to evaluation applicable demands centered on the devices requiring safety. Pros in search of to employ this selection are urged to contemplate the possible injury, loss of critical data and expense of repair connected with electrical surges. There is certainly an array of uninterruptible energy APC selections suited to provide the protection wanted based mostly about the desires with the client.

About OpenResearch

How can young researchers find the relevant conferences in their field? How can researchers inform themselves about the latest research fields in interdisciplinary contexts? Conferences are an established way of academic exchange and offer the opportunity to learn about the latest developments along the entire life cycle of research – from initial ideas to already published results.

TIB – German National Library of Science and Technology and the department Information Systems & Databases at RWTH Aachen University (Chair of Computer Science 5) work together in the ConfIDent project on the development of a service platform for scientific events. Instead of building a new platform from the ground up, we are building on the previous collaborative efforts of many people that created and worked on Openresearch. In the past Openresearch focused not only on scientific events but on a variety of other entities like papers, people, tools, etc.. For a detailed discussion of Openresearchs history see History of OpenResearch.

Now we mainly focus on scientific events and event series. For this task the ConfIDent project was created and receives funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG). It aims to make the descriptive metadata on conferences and other formats of scientific events permanently accessible in a high quality through automated processes and scientific data curating. Openresearch as a sustainable service addresses researchers who search for and publish information on scientific events, as well as universities, information infrastructure institutions, specialised societies, publishers and funding agencies.

Who is Openresearch for

Openresearch as a sustainable service addresses researchers who search for and publish information on scientific events, as well as universities, information infrastructure institutions, specialised societies, publishers and funding agencies.

What Openresearch is not?

How is a Semantic Wiki different?

Semantic Wikis allow to structure information as would be possible with a database. Other than databases, however , Semantic Wikis are more flexible and easier to use. Openresearch is based on the Semantic MediaWiki. Some of the templates and properties used here are adapted from http://SemanticWeb.org, which was created by Markus Krötsch and other members of the Semantic Web community.
