Field: human-computer interaction
Type: L3S
Objective: Basic functionalities for human-computer interaction in clinical everyday life
Coordinator: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Joern Ostermann
Duration: 2019-02- 2020-05

In the project, a voice controlled intelligent dialog system for clinics is developed. Its goal is to implement basic functionalities for human-computer interaction in clinical everyday life. This includes dialogues in everyday office life (appointments for patients) as well as information requests from the clinic's database during treatment (e.g. medical findings or physiological parameters). Verbal interaction enables information retrieval without being distracted from current activities. In contrast to existing dialogue systems (e.g. Alexa, Siri), speech recognition and processing must be carried out locally in order to comply with data protection directives for highly sensitive (medical) data.
